A Celebration of Southern Alberta Musicians and Their Music
An exciting new idea for the Okotoks area. A series of live music concerts and a television series featuring several of Southern Alberta's established and emerging musicians.
2012/2013 Season
I want to thank all who were able to attend some of our concerts this past season For our first season, it was very successful. The lineup of musicians was unbelievable and the feed back I have been receiving from musicians and concert goers has been very positive. Shaw did a wonderful job on the television productions and there is no other all Alberta music show like this.
We are starting to book acts for next season. The first concert will be September 15 and I will let you know as soon as we have the acts booked. Shaw has decided to run the series again next season. There will be 7 concerts next year that will be the same format as last season... 3 acts per concert resulting in a total of 21 half hour shows on Shaw cable 10 Calgary. If you know of any musicians who would like to take part please have them contacts us.
All of our concert tickets will be $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for children 12 and under. We are also going to offer Adult season tickets for the seven regular concerts for $140.00.
Along with the regular concerts we are looking at doing a few other things. A couple of projects for the young people (Junior High and High School) of the area being a home made instrument competition and a five minute video festival. We will also be hosting a concert that will look like an Open Mic night but will require advanced registration. This is for aspiring musicians that don't have a large repertoire of original music but could perform 2 original tunes for us. This will be video taped and edited by me and end up being part of the 'A Room Full of Sound' television series. Each musician will receive a copy of the video.
